Vera Lane Studio: Dance Studio

Hello Friends!

I'm here today to share my DT post for Vera Lane Studio
There is a new set of digital stamps in the shop today. Please pop over to check out the lovely Dance Studio, an 8 piece digi set including 3 sentiments.

As our monthly theme is Blossoms, I added some flowers to my projects with the new releases.

First, I made a spinner card - appropriate, I thought, for this cute little ballerina!

I printed out two ballerina images and two dancing cat images, making sure to flip each image so that they could be placed back to back. The images were coloured with markers and fussy cut. One ballerina was adhered to a length of stretchy cord and the second ballerina glued back to back. This cord was taped to the inside of the card.
Next, I made an aperture card, placed patterned paper on the front and also the back of the aperture so that the tape anchors were masked. The dancing cat was adhered to overlap the aperture. She was also adhered to the inside of the card:

Next, I made two tags using the Dance Studio glass door image:

I applied modelling paste through a brick patterned stencil and inked it with Vintage Photo distress ink. Some raffia ribbon trim and cheesecloth were adhered to the tag along with the images, coloured with marker pens and popped on foam pads. Leafy ribbon trim was adhered along side the door and some paper flowers, with added sequins and pearls, were dotted around. Some tufts of grass, from the Blossom set, and birds, from the Woodland Props, set were added. Baker's twine was threaded through the top of the tags.

Scrapbook Stamp Society: Monochrome Fashionista

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing my DT project for Scrapbook Stamp Society

The challenges are always Anything Goes, but this time the option is to use Monochrome

The Winners and Runner-Ups will receive My Bestie digital stamps from a selection on offer.  For more details, please pop over to the challenge blog.

Here is my card using the beautiful Fashionista Img 118 image:

My card is not totally monochrome, but I went with a black and shades of silver-grey theme. I coloured the image with marker pens, opting to leave the skin in flesh colours. I fussy cut around the image and left a thin white border. I chose this detailed black and white glitter card as the background and needed something to make the image stands out, so I die cut two small fancy ovals from silver glitter card. The image is popped on foam pads. On the left side, I adhered a length of black and white ribbon and added lace on either side. Three silver fabric flowers were attached and each given a grey pearl centre.

I hope you'll pop over to the Challenge Blog and see the DT's fabulous projects.
We would love it if you'd share your work with us!

Thanks for stopping by today!

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie: Safari Birthday

Hello friends!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie.

I do hope you'll join us.

You can enter your projects until the 26th July.

As always, there is a photo inspiration, and here it is:

Our generous sponsors this time are Melonheadz and  Sasayaki Glitter

This time I decided to use a stamp set that I've had for a while, but never used. It was  a free gift with a Papercrafting Essentials magazine and it came with an embossing folder too!

Here is my card:

I started by stamping the three animals and I coloured them with marker pens. I then fussy cut them, leaving a thin border. I embossed a piece of white card, die cut some green paper to make the hilly background and die cut some grass for the foreground. The animals were popped on foam pads. Some green trim was added along the bottom of the scene. I stamped two sentiments from the set and matted them onto green paper and adhered with foam pads. My card was matted onto green paper and adhered to the card base.

That's all from me for today. Now it's over to you...

Please pop over to the
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie
challenge blog to check out the lovely designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to share your projects in the challenge!

You could win digi stamps or become one of our 'Top Cookies'!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vera Lane Studio: Blooms

Hello Friends!

I'm here today to share my DT post for Vera Lane Studio. Our theme this month is Blossoms and I made two cards featuring some of the Vera Lane blooms.

First is a vase of flowers:

I love how this one turned out. I used 4 Vera Lane digital sets in all: Blooms for the flowers, Cats and Crocks for the vase, the banner was from May and the word 'Hello' from the Sentiments set.

All digis were arranged in PowerPoint first. Once I was happy with the arrangement, I made sure to duplicate the images and arrange separately, as I planned to decoupage the flowers to give some dimension. I coloured the images with marker pens, added some white Posca pen highlights, and fussy cut them. I always go around the images with a black brush pen from behind to make sure there are no white edges.
I decided to use a white background to make my vase of flowers stand out. To add some interest I embossed white card with a lovely new embossing folder featuring more flowers.

The whole image was adhered first and then the individual flowers were shaped using a foam pad and a Tonic Studio embossing tool. They were adhered over the top of the original flowers. The centres of my flowers were given Glossy Accent treatment. The sentiment was popped on foam pads.

I matted my card first with yellow card, then with black before popping onto a white card base.

This photo shows the dimension of the flowers:

My second card is made with the beautiful Paisley set (not for sale in the Etsy shop right now, but still available on request from Janet):

I arranged Paisley, her flowers and sentiment in PowerPoint, then printed them out. I initially thought I'd be making a CAS card, but it ended up different to my plans!  I coloured the images and cut them out with a stitched rectangle die. Leaving the die in place, I lightly inked the background with Spun Sugar. I chose this beautiful, floral, glittered card as a backing and found some trim, which reminded me of rose buds, in my stash. I decided to add some lovely, pink magnolia flowers from Anna Marie Designs and a double organza bow.

Blooms                Cats and Crocks                    May

 Sentiments and Paisley
are not in the shop at the moment, but are available on request from Janet.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

{Pin}spirational Challenges: Pretty in Pink

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today is the start of a new challenge at

{PIN}spirational Challenges.

Challenge #194 runs for 2 weeks until 17th July.

Here is the lovely inspiration photo:

Our sponsor this time is Kitty Bee Designs and Sherri Baldy:

I was lucky to receive a beautiful Sherri Baldy stamp (Img 935) and here is the card I made:

I coloured the image with alcohol pens and cut it with a stitched rectangle die. I found some wood panel paper in my stash and matted it onto kraft card. I popped the image on foam pads and tucked a die-cut doily under the image. Some gorgeous hessian ribbon was added along the left edge and a small bouquet of paper flowers and  fibres were adhered along with a pink, organza double bow.

That's all from me this time.
hope you'll pop over to
to check out the gorgeous designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to take part in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today.
