* GDT Crafting by Designs: Fairy Wishes

 Hello!

I was delighted to win a recent challenge at Crafting By Designs Challenge Blog, and even more thrilled to be asked by Doris to Guest Design.

The challenge this week is Things with Wings and here is the card I made:

I've had this Lavinia silhouette fairy stamp (Freya) for well over a year and this is the first time I've used her. To be honest I'm not such a good stamper, but one of my Christmas gifts was a stamping platform and wow ... it's opened up a whole new world for me!

I made the background with distress oxide inks, smooshing the ink onto a craft mat, spritzing with water then dipping, dabbing and drying the background card in-between new colours. The edges of the card are inked and the fairy is grounded with ink applied along a torn piece of paper. The gorgeous sentiment is from Inkilicious, as are the small foliage stamps used all around the edges. I added some Diamond Sparkle Medium to the fairy dust and to the fairy wings.

I matted the stamped scene onto black textured paper and then attached it to a 6 x 6 inch card base.

Thanks to the team at Crafting By Designs for inviting me to be a guest designer.
My badge is now proudly displayed in the side bar!

I do hope you'll pop over and join in with the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Vera Lane Studio: Don't Count Your Chickens...

Hello!

Today I'm sharing an ATC featuring the New Day digi stamps from Vera Lane Studio.

I love this little girl with her finger pointing and wagging, as if she's saying something important that she doesn't want you to forget.
I coloured the images with Copics and fussy cut them. I added Glossy Accents to the eyes. The sun is adhered directly onto the background and the girl and the chicken are popped up on foam pads. She has some good advice for the chicken!
The background is recycled packaging with Vintage Photo inked edges and some natural fibres were added to the lower half.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Vera Lane Studio: Wildflower

Hello!

We have a new release today at Vera Lane Studio
She is called Wildflower and she is the first in a new series of Fleur de girls.

I think Wildflower is absolutely adorable! She is coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut. The wildflower posy was coloured and fussy cut separately.

I made the background with Brusho Powders and, when it was dry, added some paint splatters. The edges of the background were inked with Peacock Feathers.

The images are glued directly onto the background and the sentiment was cut into strips, inked and adhered to one side.

* Scrapbook Stamp Society: Valentine Bestie

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing my second January DT project for
Scrapbook Stamp Society

This time, the challenge is Anything Goes with the optional theme of Valentine.

The Winners and Runner-Ups will receive My Bestie digital stamps from a selection on offer.  All details can be found on the challenge blog.

Here is the card I created:

I used IMG962 which you can find here. She is coloured with Copics and fussy cut. I teamed her with some romantic glitter card and popped her on foam pads for some dimension. I made a dimensional heart from the glitter card and added a pearl trim.

I hope you'll pop over to the Challenge Blog and see the DT's fabulous projects.
We would love it if you'd share your work with us!

* Vera Lane Studio: Arthur Avenue

Hello!

How fabulously quirky are these new products from Vera Lane Studio?

Janet has been busy creating a new line called Arthur Avenue. They come in the usual fabulous digi sets with sentiments and now also as pre-coloured collage sheets!

I created a journal spread:

For my journal spread I chose to use the pre-coloured collage sheet called Arthur Avenue Collage Sheet 1. The colours are so vivid and vibrant! They are super easy to fussy cut. Once I had cut my images and run around the cut edges with a black marker, I decided to clear heat emboss them to create a shine - this made the colours pop even more!

The background is made from neon acrylic paint applied with a sponge. I scribbled a little with pink pastel and added some texture with modelling paste through stencils.  The background was a little too bright, so I toned it down with a black watercolour wash ... this made the modelling paste a bit grey, but hey - that's ok! I added a little stamping and paint splatters with both white and black paint.

The words are part of the collage sheet - I used copics to add colour to them to match the background. A scribble border finishes off the pages.

* Vera Lane Studio: Circle and Stem Flowers

Hello!

It's my feature day at Vera Lane Studio once more.

Today I have some fun cards made with the Circles and Stems digi set.
Janet has also released a pre-coloured Circle and Stems collage sheet, part of the new Arthur Avenue range, which is perfect for making quick projects.
Pop over to our Facebook page for lots more inspiration.

Here's my first card:

The circle images are super cool and easy to colour. Before I printed the images, I grouped them together and added a stem and voila ... it's a tree! I used Copics to colour mine, then fussy cut and added some white Posca pen marks. The cute chickens are from the New Day digi set. The background is paint applied with a brayer and some chicken wire stamping.

My second card:

Here we have a CAS card. I made some flowers from the Circles and Stems and coupled them with two fabulous doodle birds from the Doodle Collection. A torn strip of washi tape grounds the images.

And finally, my third card:

I made a mixed media master board on A4 card from brayered acrylic paint, stamps and stencils along with some modelling paste. The card was cut into 6 pieces when finished, each piece measuring 10 x 10 cms. I inked the edges, mounted it onto black textured card, then added some doodle Borders and the word Hello from the Sentiments set (available on request).
