Vera Lane Studio: Calla Lily

Hello!

Today we have a new Fleur Girl release on Vera Lane Studio.  It's the beautiful Calla Lily and here is the card I made with her:

The images are coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut. The flowers were glued directly onto the background, while the fleur girl is popped on foam pads for dimension on top of a gelli print background. I added some twine tape from the Ribbon Girl and made a twine bow, as well as matting the gelli print onto kraft card.

Janis Turns 60: All Those Cats

Hello!

One of my blogging buddies, Janis from Her Peaceful Garden, is turning 60 this month and she's organised an ATC party. Each week in February she'll announce a new theme.

Week 1's theme is ... All Those Cats.

Maybe at this point I should mention that Janis really LOVES cats! So much so that she has 16+ ... now that's what I call a true cat lover!

Here is my ATC:

I used distress oxide inks to make the background, smooshing the card in ink and water and dabbing and drying in-between applications. I then stamped the cat's face, the Meow sentiment and the borders. I used Copics to colour in some of the blank hexagons in the border. Finally I added some gilding foil, using transfer glue, to the edge of the ATC and some random speckles over the body of the ATC.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Vera Lane Studio: Roller Girl

Hello!

Today we have two new Arthur Avenue releases at Vera Lane Studio, one digi set which I've used below and one collage set called Little Houses.

I've made a card with Roller Girl.

I just love the whimsical feel of this set! I teamed Roller Girl with one of the borders from the Heads and Borders set.
All the images were coloured with Copics, then fussy cut. I always go around the edges of the cut images with black marker pen, so that no white is showing.  The background is a gelli print. I applied pink, orange and blue paint lightly with a brayer. I added some stamping in similar colours and some black and white paint splatters.
The images are glued directly onto the gelli print. The sentiment was cut into strips, the edges inked and a hand drawn border finishes it off.

Vera Lane Studio: Love

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a card I made using Vera Lane Studio's Love Collage Sheet.

The sheet contains these adorable piglets, hearts and love letters along with a few sentiments.
The colours are fabulous and this is such a quick and easy way to make a card - print, cut, adhere and you're done!

I made a gelli print using red and pink acrylic paints and a mark making sheet. I added a strip of washi for the piglets to sit upon, then directly glued the collage elements to the print. I used thin washi, gifted to me in the last VLS ATC swap by Sonya Knoll (thank you very much!), for a border.
Ta da ... done!

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Vera Lane Studio: Polka Dot Fairy

Hello!

I have a card made with the new Arthur Avenue digi sets from Vera Lane Studio today.

Meet Polka Dot Fairy - she's such a fun, quirky character!

The images are coloured with Copics, then fussy cut.  I borrowed the sun and the word "Fly" from the Buzz Fairy set. I placed her on a gelli print background made from brayering paint and then added some stamping, paint splatters and a stamped border.

Scrapbook Stamp Society: Winter Bestie

Hello!

Today I'm sharing my lastest post for Scrapbook Stamp Society

The new challenge starts today and the theme is Anything Goes with the option of Winter. You have two weeks to enter this challenge, using any stamps you chose to, and you can enter up to 3 projects.

The Winners and Runner-Ups will receive My Bestie digital stamps from a selection on offer.  All details can be found on the challenge blog.

I chose this gorgeous stamp IMG451 for my card:

I cut the image with a stitched square die and coloured it with Copics. I chose some winter blue design paper for the background. I matted both the image and the background with kraft card. The image was popped on foam pads for a little dimension.

I made a bunch of blooms using The Ribbon Girls flowers and some die cut leaves.
A small twine bow and a single bloom decorated the top right corner.

I hope you'll pop over to the Challenge Blog and see the DT's fabulous projects.
We would love it if you'd share your work with us!
