Vera Lane Studio: Hoppy Easter

Hello!

Here in the UK we're now on British Summer Time - the clocks went back one hour this weekend and now I'm looking forward to the longer evening daylight.

Today is my turn to show my DT makes for Vera Lane Studio. This week I've made two Easter cards, both featuring cute bunnies!

Here's the first:

I used the new Doodle Bunnies for this card. I coloured them with Distress Ink and pencils and fussy cut them. I made the background from a gelli print which was stamped with a flourish. The side edges of the card have script stamped in Vintage Photo. The flowers were glued directly onto the gelli print and the bunnies were popped on foam for dimension. Some washi tape was used to ground them. The sentiment, also from the Doodle Bunnies set, is edged in black pen and adhered directly onto the background. To finish, I framed the card by inking around the edges with a blending tool and Vinatge Photo ink and mounted it onto kraft card.

My second card:

For this I used the Two Hares digi set. I arranged my images as I wanted them, added some text to say Happy Easter using Junkos Typewriter font, and printed them out. I coloured with Copics and lightly inked the background in Memento Danube Blue. I matted the image onto yellow card and then added it to a blank card base.

Here are the digi stamp sets:

* Vera Lane Studio: Daffodil

Hello!

Today sees the release of a new set of digis from Vera Lane Studio

The set is part of the Fleur de Girl series and is called Daffodil: it features a cute little flower girl, a patch of daffodils and a beautiful Georgia O'Keefe quote.

Here is my card:

I coloured the images with copic markers and fussy cut them leaving a white border. They are popped on foam pads onto a background made by clear heat embossing a floral stamp and smooshing in Distress Oxides. The sentiment I chose is from the Hello Spring digi set.

* Vera Lane Studio: Bohemian ATCs

Hello!

I'm sharing the two ATCs I made for the Vera Lane Studio Facebook group swap.

The theme this month is Bohemian.

My first ATC uses an image from Hair Day and I've added the free feather headband and some flowers from The Organics set. I coloured the images with Copics and added some white highlights and Glossy Accent details. The background is distress ink with gold heat embossing. Some sequin trim is added for extra detail.

For this one I used April from April Showers - she's dressed ready for her music festival and the signpost, from Birdy, is sending her in the right direction. She has some flag bunting and some raffia for added texture and she is on another distress ink background.

* Gecko Galz: Love Paris

Hello!

This month, over at Gecko Galz, we have a customer challenge and the theme is Paris in Springtime.

I made these cards for inspiration:

Card 1: Je t'aime

I love this topper which comes from the A Rose is a Rose collage set. I teamed it with paper from the Timeless paper collection, distressing and inking the edges. It is mounted onto some embossed pearlescent card, but the crochet lace edging covers most of it up. I thought this sentiment was perfect for the card - it is from the Charming Words collage set. I added some lacy rose trim, a couple of gems and some jumbo pearls as finishing touches.

Card 2: Bienvenue

This is such a simple card - really quick and easy to assemble! I chose a topper from the Provence Garden collage set and inked the edges. It is popped, at an angle, on foam pads on top of some paper from the Timeless paper pack and matted onto ivory pearlescent card. Both the paper and card are distressed. As finishing touches, I added some coffee coloured crochet lace, some pearl bead trim and a decoupaged butterfly from the Butterfly Kisses collage set.
